This hairdressing salon is a far cry from the clichés and stereotypes; it is a salon overflowing with personality. The challenge we faced was to reinvent a neighbourhood hairdressing salon and to transform it into a new business concept based on an iconic space within the fashion world: the catwalk at the Pasarela Gaudí fashion show. The owners wanted something ambitious, and they wanted to transmit this on their business premises. They wanted to create a hairdressing salon for ambitious and demanding people. The transparent 3×2-metre LED screen is the only such screen in the country and the images projected on it have a hypnotic effect on passers-by. Moreover, the sign is made from an aluminium composite and contains a strip of light that shapes the famous catwalk. This is an ingenious way of adapting the new brand image to the exterior. Light is the indisputable star at GAUDÍ. The light acts like a design weapon. The light enters the mirrors on the dressers, which are placed so that they are facing each other, and this creates a tunnel effect that amplifies the sense of space. Apart from the light, the high-resolution vinyl prints on the walls and partitions convert the images themselves into design tools. This turns a visit to the hairdressers into an experience full of sensations.
